About Eldot

Eldot, LLC is a bamboo product design firm and distributor. Their mission is to design, facilitate production, and distribute quality, sustainable home furnishing and architectural products to benefit the environment and its inhabitants. In order to be a catalyst for rural poverty alleviation and positive climate change, Eldot is committed to developing handmade, innovative bamboo based products for contemporary society. Their work is as much an industrial revolution as a social movement for a triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Profit.

Eldot became a B Corp for Several reasons. We wanted to become a part of the community of like minded businesses working towards a greater good. Second, we felt a third party certification would assure to our suppliers, customers, and consumers that our commitment to sustainability and society was, at our core, one of the main driving forces. Finally, we wanted to ensure these values would remain part of the DNA of our company long into the future.

The Change We Seek™

Bamboo has the potential to alleviate social disparity and to revitalize the ecological balance of our contemporary global society. It is the fastest growing woody plant and captures 30% more Carbon Dioxide (CO2) than trees. Bamboo is a highly renewable substitute for wood in the furniture and construction industries. It grows particularly well in tropical and sub-tropical areas, most of which are in developing countries. Rural communities in these areas have abundant, yet underutilized natural resources and crafting traditions. With the right design, training, and infrastructure, local artisans can be mobilized to produce quality bamboo products for contemporary society that would sustain livelihoods and supply the ever-growing need for green consumer products.
