Goodmans Interior Structures is an office furniture dealership dedicated to creating great lifetime furniture experiences for their healthcare, corporate, education and government clients.  Who they are is a reflection of their work and the way they do it, their history and their values, and the ethic of innovation and design that is at the heart of it all.

Their mission is to create great lifetime furniture experiences for their clients.  For six decades, they have developed a reputation for being a family-owned business that specializes in customer-centered service, innovative office design and a commitment to the community.  Goodmans represents Herman Miller and DIRTT Architectural Solutions.

We became a B Corporation to not only set the industry standard but raise the bar by demonstrating that there is a better way to do business.  Our overall organizational culture reflects a mission of serving customers with services and products that create a more productive, efficient, healthy and aesthetic environment. 

 

The Change We Seek

The number one value of Goodmans is that “nothing is more important than the welfare of their people”. To illustrate the point, Goodmans is a six-time Best Places to Work winner and is the first company in Arizona to receive the prestigious CEO Cancer Gold Standard certification.

The second corporate value of Goodmans is “Connectedness”. This value pronounces that Goodmans is not isolated on an island; they are part of a community, an industry, a country and the planet. As citizens of these domains, Goodmans has a responsibility to all other stakeholders to act in a mature, dignified, ethical, sustainable and honorable way.

Goodmans is effective at leveraging the company’s resources and assets to meet the community’s needs. As a testimony to their success, in 2008 the Arizona Corporate Excellence Awards recognized Goodmans with its first-ever “Community Impact Award”, acknowledging their contributions over every other privately-owned business headquartered in Arizona.  

The vision of Goodmans is “to change our community”. This vision manifests in a variety of innovative programs that fall under their philanthropy umbrella “Rooted in Good”:

  • AIM to Make a Difference: They warehouse their customers’ surplus furniture that would otherwise be headed for the landfill and repurpose that furniture, for free, to Arizona nonprofits. Since 2008, 120 organizations have received over $1,000,000 worth of furniture though their program. AIM to Make a Difference has become a national model copied by most of the major manufacturers in their industry.
  • Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy: Each year, they select an executive director of a nonprofit who is most deserving of a $20,000 office makeover. Since 2004, 14 nonprofits have benefited from the program.
  • GoodTHREADS: Inspired by the declining support for foster parents, their employees created a clothing bank to store, sort and distribute free clothing to foster families. Since 2009, the program has clothed over 5,000 children in Southern Arizona. 
  • GoodART: They partner with Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona to take the artwork created by at-risk children and place it in their customers’ offices.
  • Office Chair Hockey Tournament: Sixteen teams from the commercial real estate industry play hockey…while sitting in Herman Miller Aeron chairs. Between 2002 and 2008, we raised an average of $30,000 per year for local charities.

As for the environment, Goodmans is an acknowledged leader in sustainability:
