About Greenhouse Eco-Cleaning

Since 2006, GreenHouse Eco-Cleaning has been making homes and offices safer, healthier and of course cleaner, without the use of dangerous chemicals.  They do that by researching the best products, developing their own and empowering their expert cleaners with extensive training and education.  Their flexible online systems make it easy for you to match your home or office cleaning needs to their services. And they back it all up with topnotch quality control. New York Magazine and others have singled them out as the top green cleaning service.

We became a B Corp to unite with likeminded companies that share our values and to find a community where our commitment to employ, educate and empower people is celebrated

The Change We Seek®

It all started when Saudia Davis’s (our CEO) grandmother lost her battle to cancer.

A housekeeper from the West Indies, she had inhaled toxic cleaning fumes for decades. Saudia’s family speculated –with plenty of evidence- that these chemicals had made her sick.  Saudia (a former film publicist) was stricken with grief. She wanted her grandmother’s death to carry meaning.

Saudia’s grandmother had worked hard, but never had the opportunity to advance. We wanted to not only create jobs, we wanted to find, foster, and celebrate greatness for an underserved community. Today, we screen dozens of experienced cleaners. When we find one that aligns with our standards and mission, we hire him or her as an employee (a highly unusual move), and add to our growing family. GreenHouse’s philosophy is to be accountable. This means putting our home and commercial cleaners –our employees -- through a rigorous training and educational curriculum. It means coaching, encouraging personal development, and caring deeply about our work and our people.

We are not just a business—we are part of the community. Dangerous chemicals in cleaning products wreak havoc on our environment and threaten our health.  GreenHouse Eco-Cleaning is committed to making it easy for you to be safe and healthy where you live and work.
