About Homesol Building Solutions

Homesol’s green building consultants work with builders, renovators, designers and homeowners in Ontario, Atlantic Canada and throughout North America, to deliver energy-efficient green building solutions for residential new construction or retrofit projects.

From energy modeling, thermography and "blower door" air leakage testing, to ENERGY STAR Certified homes and third-party verified EnerGuide Ratings, or high-performance R-2000, Net Zero Homes, LEED, Passive House and beyond, if you're ready to create today’s cleaner, more comfortable energy-saving buildings Homesol is here to help.

We became B Corp Certified because we want to ensure our company achieves the highest possible social, community, employment and environmental standards, through rigorous third-party examination and verification of every aspect of our business. B Lab holds our feet to the fire and re-defines what success means. In an industry where green-washing and unfair labour practices abound, where some organizations pretend to care about energy efficiency, climate change and the fate of our planet simply to cash in on incentives, and where most of their "employees" are just piecework subcontractors with no profit-sharing, benefits or job security, we're willing, in fact eager, to put our company's ethics, values and mission to the test, not only to measure where we're starting from, but to actually quantify our progress and chart the path towards continual improvement in the way we conduct our business affairs. At Homesol, we walk the talk, and we're willing to prove it.

The Change We Seek®

Imagine a world where homes are part of the solution!

Buildings are one of the largest global contributors to climate change. They use more electricity, consume more water and resources, and produce more waste than any other economic sector, yet greener, more sustainable low-carbon buildings are simply better, healthier, more comfortable and cost less to own, why on Earth settle for less. Together we can change the world, one home at a time!

Homesol's Mission is to inspire their clients to create energy-saving, healthy, comfortable, durable, resilient and affordable homes; to deliver collaborative, integrative energy modeling, design and green building consulting services; to help First Nations communities improve housing and reduce energy poverty for all; and to fight climate change by encouraging sustainable, low-carbon buildings and retrofits.

Their Values are to build a visionary and environmentally responsible building solutions company; to provide income security and right livelihood for their employees and their families; to earn the trust and loyalty of their clients; and to seek continual improvement (kaizen) through professional development, teamwork and building science expertise.

"We don't inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." - Moses Henry Cass
