About Impact Hub Amsterdam

Impact Hub is about the power of innovation through collaboration. Impact Hub believes there is no shortage of good ideas to solve the issues of our time, yet there is an acute lack of infrastructure to remove barriers and make them happen. Impact Hub was founded to address this need. Impact Hub is a well-developed entrepreneurial ecosystem of innovation, internationalization and productivity; that contributes significantly to economic growth and solutions to environmental and societal challenges. In trust, with courage, and by collaboration Impact Hub proves how the new economy works. For over 12,000 members worldwide, in 82 cities around the world, it is for them “the place that I call mine.”

From their accelerator programs -Business Model Challenge, Investment Ready Program and Scaling Program- that support entrepreneurial solutions to start, grow and scale, to the food that’s eaten and the way their members work. Impact Hub provides a micro model of how to solve the macro issues, where they include both problems and solutions, right in your face in one place. This is where change goes to work.

Impact Hub Amsterdam’s community grew in 2015 to over 240 active entrepreneurial members, 10,000 yearly visitors, and all in total 633 engaged community members. These are professional mates that make Impact Hub Amsterdam an unstoppable movement. From impact investors and entrepreneurs, educators and corporate leaders, to governments and thought leaders. A diverse community in action. Last year alone, Impact Hub Amsterdam helped grow 3080+ social enterprises; helped create over 569 new jobs, and helped member social enterprises generate €30 million in new revenue. Since Impact Hub opened 8 years ago in Amsterdam - pioneering a place-based social economy - they’ve been fortunate enough to support 1000s of changemakers to drive social, environmental and economic betterment in the world near and far. Successes like these makes them realise that they are the future cities catapult. They accelerate urban ideas to market, to grow the new economy and make cities better. Now is the time to maximise their impact.

The Customers section of the Assessment measures the impact a company has on its customers. The section focuses on whether a company sells products or services that promote public benefit, and if those products/services are targeted towards serving underserved populations. Questions in this section will measure whether a company's product or service is designed to solve a social or environmental issue (e.g. improves health, preserves environment or creates economic opportunity to individuals or communities, promotes the arts/sciences, or increases the flow of capital to purpose-driven enterprises).
