Job Title: Drupal Developer

Job Description:

CoLab is seeking an experienced Drupal Developer who works well in a collaborative environment. We are a worker owned cooperative specializing in building do good technologies. This position offers an opportunity to work within a team and build technologies which help make the world a better placeRoles and Responsibilities

  • Implement site specifications such as wireframes, IA documentation, and user stories using the Drupal CMS

  • Work with clients and project managers to identify the best modules, tools, and architecture to meet client needs

  • Create and modify custom themes as per design comps and guidelines

  • Respond to all team and client communications in a timely manner

  • Be on time and present for all scheduled team and client meetings

  • Provide recommendations for how CoLab teams’ development processes can be iterated upon and improved

Experience and requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience developing Drupal sites

  • Thorough knowledge of Drupal 7 site building best practices, common modules, and theming standards

  • Familiarity with feature-based development for content type configuration, panels setup, etc.

  • Some experience developing custom modules

  • Knowledge of modern HTML & CSS standards, including responsive web development and semantic markup

  • Comfort working with basic JavaScript and jQuery, including custom theme JavaScript and Drupal JS settings arrays

  • Ability to write maintainable, well-commented code

  • Experience working with project management tools such as Redmine or Atlassian’s JIRA

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Self starter

  • Team player (you’ll be part of the Delivery Team and work closely with PMs, designers, and other developers)

  • Strong professional communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to manage and communicate timelines, scope, and budget

  • Experience with time tracking and invoicing systems

  • Fully comfortable using git

Other things that are helpful:

  • Interest in highly collaborative environment

  • Experience working in a remote, distributed team is a bonus

  • Experience participating in team development processes and scrums

  • Technical knowledge related to web and mobile application development

  • Experience with Drupal 8

  • Involvement in one or more open source projects, especially Drupal-related

  • Familiarity with Jira, Trello, Google Apps, HipChat, and/or Freshbooks software is a plus

  • Appreciation of simple beauty and clean code is a big plus

  • A desire to work where you can bring your full self to your work

  • A desire to grow and learn from and with others

Time Commitment:

Project based, 15-20 hours a week to start
