Job Title: EEC Lead Teacher
Watching children learn is magical.
When education is playful, imaginative and exciting, kids soak up knowledge like dry sponges and remind us of how special the world is.
We want to give you the opportunity to create those experiences for kids in your own community.
We’re Imajine That, and we’re looking for three EEC certified lead teachers to run our programs at William Blackstone Elementary School, Henry Grew Elementary School and Lee Academy Pilot School in Dorchester.
Entry-level and experienced applicants are all welcome!
The goal of this position is to run an exciting and imaginative after school program that creates raving fans. You’ll be successful at this by building great relationships with your staff, and the children and families in your program. You’ll exceed the EEC licensing requirements and transport the Imajine That culture from our children’s museum into the school you’re working in.
Each day you’ll set up before kids get out of school and then collect them from their classes when the bell rings. You’ll start with circle time and rotate through homework time, outdoor play time, station time and of course snack time. Once the program is finished, you’ll make sure each child is picked up by their parent or guardian.
In addition, you’ll run monthly fire drills, assess student’s progress and make sure all necessary paperwork is kept in order.
We’ll make sure you have the best materials, training, STEM-based activities and curriculum for each day. You’ll have access to educational technology from the award-winning producers from “Peep In the Big Wide World” produced by our partners at WGBH, a PBS affiliate.
You’ll be working from William Blackstone Elementary School, Henry Grew Elementary School or Lee Academy Pilot School in Dorchester. Programs take place Monday to Friday, with setup starting around 2:00pm and clean up finishing by 6:00pm. On top of your hourly wage, you’ll receive one hour of paid time off for every 30 you work. You’ll also receive amazing educational opportunities and this year we’re starting an IRA for all employees.
