About Trillium

Headquartered in Boston, MA, Trillium Asset Management, LLC (Trillium) is the oldest independent investment advisor devoted exclusively to sustainable and responsible investing (SRI). Trillium integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into the investment process to lower portfolio risk and help identify the best managed companies.

Founded in 1982, Trillium has a long history of managing SRI and ESG equity and fixed income investments for high net worth individuals, foundations, endowments, religious and other nonprofit organizations as well as financial advisors and their clients.

In our view, Trillium was a B Corp before there was a name for it. We were founded explicitly to benefit society and the environment as well as our employee shareholders. It has been part of our mission since day one. It was a natural step for us to become a B Corporation and promote this model of doing business.

The Change We Seek®

A leader in shareholder advocacy and public policy work, Trillium leverages the power of stock ownership to promote social and environmental change while providing both impact and performance to investors. Trillium’s team of environmental, social and governance (ESG) advocacy experts are involved in high level discussions with dozens of the most influential companies in the U.S., sometimes as a direct result of shareholder resolutions that are filed with the companies. The firm works in close collaboration with many investor groups, including the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, Open Mic and Ceres.  Trillium also supports and collaborates with a broad network of organizations working toward common goals.

As an employee owned firm, Trillium strives to achieve the same level of diligence and reporting that they ask of companies with whom we interact. Every two years, Trillium publishes a comprehensive sustainability report which uses the guidelines set forth in the Global Reporting Index (GRI) guidelines and its Financial Services Sector Supplement. GRI has developed the most widely used framework for sustainability reporting. The framework allows users to track and report ESG impacts using general and industry-tailored principles and indicators.

Trillium is deeply committed to using the power of capital markets to move toward a sustainable economy that properly values people and planet.
