Enviro-Stewards Inc’s Engineers & Scientists serve as sustainability catalysts for industrial, commercial and institutional facilities. As such, they stimulate increased margin on sales while reducing environmental footprints and improving social conditions. Such services include:

Another certified B Corporation (author Bob Willard) believed so strongly in the fit of our services with B corporations that he offered to pay the fee for us to become certified. We have found B lab’s certification process to be a valuable review of the environmental and social benefits generated by our organization.

For an example, in the Fruition case study (see link on right), Enviro-Stewards’ services stimulated a 40 person facility to reduce their utility, ingredient and waste costs by $490,000/year, reduce GHG emissions and effluent loadings by 30% and 90%, respectively, and to provide 40 drinking water purification systems to homes in South Sudan.

The Change We Seek®

Enviro-Stewards was founded as a social venture (see Social Venture Case Study) to provide clients services to conserve resources and staff an opportunity to serve others. Staff are facilitated to use their technical and personal skills to assist local charitable work and to help launch sustainable income generating projects in the developing world (see CTV news feature). Clients are provided with practical, economically viable measures to improve the environmental and social aspects of their operations.

To illustrate, a program provider in the Toronto area recently determined that the 19 small and medium sized facilities assisted by Enviro-Stewards under their program intended to implement 90% of Enviro-Stewards’ recommendations. This in turn would collectively save:

•$3,000,000/yr in operating costs (with a 1 year return on investment),

• Eliminate 97 tonnes/yr of toxics and 424 tonnes per year of hazardous wastes,

•Save 1,151,800 m3/yr of natural gas, 3,760 megawatt hours of electricity and 331,000 m3/yr of water, and

•Eliminate 3,000 tonnes/year of greenhouse gas emissions
