About Green New Earth

Green New Earth (GNE) is an environmentally, socially and economically responsible fundraising organization that helps schools, student groups and non-profits raise money. By creating a variety of fundraising programs that utilize organic, fair trade and sustainable products along with tools and resources such as the internet and social media, GNE is looking to change the fundraising experience from top to bottom. GNE’s fundraisers are more efficient and effective than traditional methods. For example, fundraising groups can partake in GNE’s Online Fundraising Program by directing potential supporters to the personalized web page built specifically for their fundraiser. Upon arrival to the web page, a fundraiser supporter will learn about the group and its fundraising goals. If the supporter chooses to click the “Donate” button they will be directed to an e-commerce page with the above mentioned products for purchase. After filling their online shopping cart and making a purchase, 30% - 40% of the supporter’s purchase is credited to the group holding the fundraiser. A “win-win” situation is created because the fundraising group was supported, the supporter purchased practical & sustainable products and it was all done without having to use any unnecessary resources.

GNE was created to show that a company could not only be profitable supporting the non-profit sector with a new style of fundraising, but also exhibit that our business model would simultaneously support a healthy environment, economy, society and local community. B Corp’s mission encompasses all these aspects and offers a great way for like minded businesses to show the world that profitability and “corporate responsibility” can in fact walk hand in hand. Achieving B Corp Certification is a step in the right direction for GNE as well as a guide to make sure our original mission statement is always adhered to while simultaneously being strengthened.

The Change We Seek®

Fundraising has been an integral part of our society for hundreds of years. However, it seems over the years the main objective of fundraising (helping a worthy cause) has been diluted and lost much in the same way many grassroots business practices have. GNE hopes that offering and introducing people to the sustainable products that we carry as well as using methods that are resource efficient, GNE will promote a new way of viewing how fundraising is approached. Ironically, this “new way” of approaching fundraising may merely be a different view of what fundraising was originally seen as in its original form. Simple, effective, makes you feel good and has little to no negative impact on anyone or anything.
