About Habitat Enterprises

Habitat Enterprises was founded to find the most efficient ways to reduce carbon. We develop niche methane-to-energy projects (with methane being 21x more harmful than carbon) that are designed to efficiently and sustainably create UN grade carbon offsets and generate clean energy. Each of our projects reduces 600,000 or more tonnes of carbon – achieving a tonne of carbon reduction for every $4 to $6 invested - while generating clean renewable energy. This allows Habitat to create high impact, successful, small to medium clean energy projects.

We are proud to be a certified B Corp because we fundamentally believe that this is the type of business we, as entrepreneurs and investors, need to be building to address the challenges the world is facing. We also believe that innovating on existing business mechanisms is the fastest and most effective way to implement “the change we seek” – Habitat is choosing to do this by leveraging the power of capital markets and raising capital to directly reduce greenhouse gases. Having the B Corp certification shows that businesses can and do create positive change in the world.

Our business is reducing carbon, creating jobs for low to middle class workers, and installing clean energy infrastructure. Habitat is an example of a new type of business that only creates positive environmental and social impact - so if we grow, the impact grows.

The Change We Seek®

Habitat Enterprises’ mission is to reduce 20 million tonnes of carbon by 2020.

We are achieving this by:

• Developing small to medium methane-to-energy projects that each reduce over 600,000 tonnes of carbon by installing exclusively licensed technology that captures methane and converts it to energy.

• Using project finance experience and tools to raise capital from traditional investors for methane-to-energy projects. Our goal is to prove that methane reduction projects are not only feasible, but also lucrative and of reasonable risk for return seeking and values aligned investors alike.
