Located in rural northwestern New Jersey, Herbalist & Alchemist, Inc. has been crafting the highest quality, traditional herbal products since 1981. Founded by internationally known ethnobotanist, clinical herbalist, lecturer, and author David Winston, RH (AHG) to manufacture quality herbal products for use with his patients, Herbalist & Alchemist products are based on his 40 years of clinical experience practicing Cherokee, Chinese and Western herbal medicine. Because of his exacting standards and extensive knowledge, the herbal extracts we manufacture have become widely used by clinical herbalists because of their quality and efficacy. They are also available through our web site and in finer health food stores.
We became a B Corporation because for almost 30 years we have been running our company on similar principles to the B Corporation standards, making products that are good for people in a way that is good for the earth.
Working with Rutgers University on quality assurance issues, Herbalist & Alchemist manufactures over 250 single extracts and herbal formulas from organically grown or sustainably wild-crafted herbs. They source raw herbs from people they know, examining each batch by hand before they are processed, and making the extracts themselves. They know, exactly, that what is in their products is on the label.
