Institute of Green Professionals

About The Institute of Green Professionals

The Institute of Green Professionals (IGP) is a membership organization for the interdisciplinary professional and academic sustainability community. IGP is an independent, professional, education, credentialing, research and philanthropic "social enterprise" organization. Interdisciplinary in its scope, IGP is the only organization that brings together individuals and organizations from all spheres of sustainability - academia, accounting, appraisal, architecture, construction, economics, education, engineering, facilities management, research, investment, land planning, landscape architecture, law, lending, green manufacturing/products, and social enterprise organizations.

The Institute of Green Professionals became a Founding B Corporation to acknowledge publicly and legally our blended-value and social-enterprise organization model.

The reason that IGP membership commands such a high level of credibility and respect is that many of the world's leading professionals and academics are Members that endorse our mission and activities, and fully qualified IGP Members and Fellows have met high standards of professional designation, rigorous education and adhere to the IGP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. The majority of IGP Members and Fellows have already attained significant professional recognition with their professional designations and/or academic degrees prior to joining IGP, which are enhanced by the IGP sustainable development designation.

The Change We Seek™

Our Mission Statement: The Institute of Green Professionals is an interdisciplinary network of sustainability professionals, academics and organizations that promote the advancement of "Green" practices and the research of its individual and corporate members to the global community through education, credentialing, resources and high standards of ethics and professional conduct.

• IGP credentials are only awarded to individuals who are prepared to maintain high standards in a way that is to the public's advantage. Having an IGP designation after your name reassures clients, colleagues and the general public that you are a fully qualified expert in your field with specialized knowledge and experience in sustainable development.

• By creating a community of highly-qualified professionals, IGP offers the best advice to members, partners, governments, and other organizations moving toward sustainability. There is great number of routes that an organization can take to become sustainable, and we advise our clients on the most viable route and maximizing their return.
