eConsciousMarket.com is a "For-Benefit" online commerce site based in Boulder, Colorado. They sell thousands of the finest ecologically (eCo "friendlier") and socially responsible products available and donate up to 10% of every purchase to the exceptional Non-Profit organizations listed on their website. They believe that Giving really is the New Getting, and they're here to break new ground to prove it. Think of it as "Compassionate Consumption". Unique to their model is the opportunity for each customer to choose which non-profit organization receives up to 10% of each purchase. Every time you Get, you Give too. They let their customers decide where their money goes from the ever-expanding list of non-profit organizations.
We were thrilled when we first heard about the concepts being developed at B Lab. Our company and goals fit perfectly with these ideas - creating a thriving socially-minded business sector that benefits society and improves the environment. We're honored to be a Founding B Corporation alongside so many other incredible companies, and we look forward to building the sector together.
What they are not here to do is promote guilt-free over-consumption - after all, the greenest purchase you can make is none at all. Rather, they provide customers with responsible options when they need to purchase something. They believe in corporate transparency all along the manufacturing chain, so their online marketplace offers educational information on every company on their site. This information highlights how each company is taking responsibility both ecologically and socially.
