Linhardt Design is the New York-based fine and fashion jewelry house that is revolutionizing the industry with its extra-ordinary designs coupled with socially and environmentally responsible practices. Linhardt merges design sophistication with the highest principles of sustainability by exclusively using recycled precious metals and mine-to-market gemstones. At a time when jewelry companies are outsourcing, Linhardt manufactures locally, creating jobs right in the Diamond District of Manhattan, while bringing supply chain transparency to the industry.
We are so excited to be part of a community of like-minded businesses that address social and environmental issues as they pursue financial success. It is about proving that "doing well by doing good" is a large and growing trend across industries, not a niche concept, and that it is the only sustainable way of doing business. Another attractive aspect of being a B Corp is the rigorous process and third-party certification that helps differentiate between those that "walk the walk" and those that may only "talk the talk".
Coined “the green jeweler”, Linhardt was chosen for a "Critics' Pick: Best of NY” by New York magazine. Linhardt’s “wearable sculpture” has been worn by Jennifer Lopez, Gisele Bundchen and Alicia Keys; and is regularly featured in fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Bazaar. In 2012 Linhardt Design will become available in select galleries in Europe and the United States
Linhardt Design is a woman-owned business with a percentage of proceeds donated to the education of girls in Africa.

The Change We Seek®
The jewelry industry lags behind the garment or the food industry when it comes to sustainability, and needs to change how it sources materials. Linhardt Design strives to lead the industry by tracking down the origins of the materials it uses, and ensuring they were extracted responsibly. This means working with recycled precious metals and/or artisanal mining, as well as banning diamonds that have contributed to human rights violations, especially in conflict areas. It also includes choosing to work with facilities that support the development of their communities (train local workers, teach transferable skills, pay fair wages and have fair working conditions).
The concept is for people to be able to enjoy beautiful pieces of jewelry without being at the expense of the planet and the people who live on it.
