New Resource Bank

About New Resource Bank

New Resource Bank is the bank for people who are leading the way to a more sustainable world. They match an entrepreneurial spirit with a dedication to achieving environmental and social, as well as financial, returns.

Our ultimate goal is to transform what it means to do, “business as usual.” Becoming a B Corporation brings that goal closer to reality. Joining this community gives us access to best practices and new ideas we can share with our stakeholders, and it provides respected third-party verification that we meet the highest social and environmental standards.

New Resource Bank believes that acting collectively, businesses can be a powerful agent for change. They're proud of their pioneering clients in the clean energy, green building, and organic food sectors, and of their groundbreaking solar and green lending programs, which other banks have emulated. And their business customers get more than custom financing and expert advice—they get connected to New Resource Bank's network of sustainability leaders. The company also collaborates with nonprofits on creative ways for them to advance their mission, save money, and increase donations.

The Change We Seek®

New Resource Bank’s mission is to advance sustainability with everything we do—the loans we make, the way we operate, and our commitment to putting deposits to work for good. To us, banking isn’t just a service—it’s a way to create a better world.

We manage the financial, environmental, and social impacts of our activities to promote the global well-being of future generations. New Resource supports businesses, nonprofits, and people that are pursuing innovative solutions to our environmental, economic, and social challenges. We provide innovative programs such as the Solar CD, which funds solar industry loans; home equity loans for energy efficiency and renewable power upgrades; and a debit card that generates donations for nonprofit organizations. And we work continually to make our own operations more sustainable.

New Resource seeks to model sustainability with our LEED Gold–rated headquarters, programs that educate and engage people in rethinking the way we use resources, and ongoing sustainability initiatives, such as greening our IT systems and partnering with iReuse to track and reduce our waste and consumption. We also offset 100 percent of electricity usage and company travel through the purchase of Green-e renewable energy certificates. On top of that, our staff-led Values in Action Committee is dedicated to making sure we live up to our sustainability principles.
