About WaterSmart Software

WaterSmart Software is a proven customer engagement and data analytics platform.

WaterSmart leverages utility meter data to better communicate with residential customers about their water usage. Water utility partners also receive analytics that reveal insights into their customers, consumption habits, and program participation. Using their least-cost technology leads to smarter consumption habits, increased water efficiency, and higher return on investment for utilities. The WaterSmart platform is deployed through the cloud and requires no integration or hardware.

As of March 2016, WaterSmart is a legal Public Benefit Corporation.

WaterSmart is dedicated to changing behaviors to save our most precious natural resource. We aim to create an ethic of sustainable water management in our technology. Becoming a B Corporation and a legal Benefit Corporation demonstrates the alignment of our company mission to our products and services to our employees, utility partners, and stakeholders.

The Change We Seek®

WaterSmart is focused on helping water suppliers and consumers use water more sustainably. They believe that data analytics and behavioral science, applied to water use, can lead to more efficient practices. In an era of limited water availability, water efficiency should be central to our lives. WaterSmart's hope is that the use of their innovative water efficiency data and engagement platform will lead to beneficial impacts on the world -- that people can use less water to do the same things with an enhanced quality of life, leaving more water in our streams and rivers for a healthier planet.

WaterSmart can make positive impacts on the following issues:

  • Water: Reduce the consumption of fresh water
  • Energy: Reduce the energy consumed to move, heat and treat water
  • Carbon: Lower carbon emissions from less energy consumption
  • Education: Increase water awareness through personalized information and communications
  • Charitable giving: Donate a percentage of WaterSmart's revenue to water-focused nonprofit groups as directed by WaterSmart's employees
