About In Posse

In Posse provides consulting and engineering design services for high performance, deep green projects with a special expertise in net-zero energy.  In Posse is Latin for in potential and our goal is to help realize the potential for each building to perform at the highest levels.  In Posse is a subsidiary of AKF Group and is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.

In Posse focuses exclusively on the energy and sustainable design sectors of the built environment for clients in a broad range of market sectors.  Services address all aspects of building performance including modeling and analysis of building systems, engineering high performance building systems, commissioning and occupant education and engagement.

We became a B Corp because we wanted to build a company that would combine our concern for the environment, our need to provide for our families and a desire to be a force for positive change in the world and in our community.  We work for great clients who care about sustainability, profits and their local communities and we realized these things are important to us as well.

The Change We Seek®

In Posse seeks to create a world in which buildings generate more energy than they use, produce clean water instead of waste, create habit instead of destroying it and fully serve the needs of the people who use and inhabit them.  On the way toward that future, In Posse strives to design high performance, ultra-low energy buildings that meet occupant’s needs, are comfortable and are intuitive for occupants to control.

In Posse’s focus is not just on engineering building systems but also on engaging with building occupants. In Posse believes the path to the greatest energy savings and lowest environmental impact lies with people. The company seeks to help people better understand their relationship with energy and the environment and to design buildings that inspire and motive positive behavioral change.
