About One Green Street

One Green Street will be the first LEED Certified Retailer in Houston. Their product lines are cutting edge and eco-friendly, which means they are organic, recycled, up cycled, handmade or made locally. There is not another store like theirs that offers everything from makeup to mattresses all good for you and the planet too! Their competitive edge is the value they place on human capital (customer service) and educating their customers on products, services and reasons why living a healthy lifestyle is the key to good health and the condition of our planet.

We became a B Corp because our company culture and core values are directly in line with those of the B Corp community. Being a sustainable business is in our DNA, it is who we are when nobody is looking.

Their motto is “start where you are and grow from there” which allows their customers to feel comfortable shopping with them whether they are dipping their toe in the water and buying their first bar of organic soap or whether they are completing their wardrobe of bamboo and organic cotton. They have something for everybody and encourage members of their community to D.O.T. (do one thing) and in the end that can make a big difference.

The Change We Seek®

One Green Street hopes to create value and inspire change. They know what people put on their bodies and in their bodies has a direct effect on their health and on the environment. They offer customers choices that are not available in the big box stores or on their daily shopping spree. When you shop at their store you don’t have to guess if something is healthy or non-toxic, good for you or a hazard to your health…they have done the research for you. You can trust that everything on their shelves has been researched, scrutinized and passed their inspection before they offer it to you! They believe in supporting local businesses and have many local artists in their destination. They believe in fair wages and fair trade and hold their vendors accountable in that regard. They celebrate diversity in their employees and interns. They treat customers like family and that is why they come back again and again saying “we are their favorite store.” None of the above really has to do with the bottom line, yet they thrive because of these efforts. They look forward to a day when the whole world lives on One Green Street and being a Certified B Corporation is the norm rather than the exception.
