About Rockstar CPA

Rockstar CPA is an accounting practice with a focus on the creative and entertainment industries. They believe that their clients deserve to understand the world of business and taxes, and to have an advocate in their corner. They offer personalized services focused on the needs of their clients. Instead of advertising they prefer to put that time and those resources into making their clients happy--and letting them do the talking.

We became a B Corp because we believe that businesses can and ought to exist for the sake of all stakeholders: community, employees, customers, environment, and owners. We want to communicate and champion the cause of socially responsible business practices.

The Change We Seek™

In order to recognize the importance of all stakeholders, we have taken steps to change our business model to become more stakeholder-conscious:

• We place an emphasis on and engage with the local community and educating them about important fiscal health matters. Many artists are low-income individuals who don't have access to the caliber of help it takes to address their needs. We partner with several nonprofit institutions to provide educational seminars to educate this underserved population.

• We strive to provide our employees with a living wage, valuable benefits (such as time off to do charitable work), and a work environment that they are excited about and proud of. We firmly believe that a business is fueled by the passion of the employees therein, so we are constantly adapting our model to capture the passions and interests of our talented staff.

• We provide free tax preparation to artistic individuals under the poverty level, in exchange for their participation in one of three volunteer activities. This allows a low-income segment of the market access to valuable services, while also enriching the community in which they operate.

• The owners are allowed to make a profit on business activities and to compensate them for their investment, but are also challenged to donate a portion of those profits to qualified charities.
