Founded in the San Francisco bay area in 1984, its aim is to help companies achieve the highest level of environmental performance and social accountability. SCS evaluates companies for compliance with standards such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), USDA Organic, BIFMA level, Veriflora, Safe Quality Food (SQF), British Retail Consortium (BRC), Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and many more.
