Solmetric Corporation is a test and measurement company that designs and manufactures tools for the solar installation industry. Its shade analysis tool, the patented SunEyeTM, is a hand-held electronic tool that instantly measures shading and solar access data of a particular location. The device is an indispensable on-site tool for accurately designing a new solar system and maximizing its return on investment. The SunEye has received awards throughout the world and has been adopted as the preferred shade analysis tool for solar installers. Solmetric’s PV Designer is a software tool that allows solar installers to design a solar system by dragging modules onto a roof, importing SunEye shade measurements, and simulating the energy output of the system.
Solmetric became a B Corporation to reflect our commitment to running our business in a sustainable and socially conscious way and to provide a framework and community within which to further this commitment.

Solmetric is committed to developing products that serve the solar industry. The focus on this alternative energy market sector is as much for the social good that the products enable as it is for the exciting growth opportunities it presents. In addition to developing products that help improve the environment, like tools that make solar systems and those who install them more effective, Solmetric also follows environmentally and socially responsible guidelines in running its business. These guidelines include: company-wide CO2 free operation, a philanthropy program in which it donate 1% of products and 1% of personnel time to non-profit organizations, and the use of sustainably manufactured materials in its products. For example, the molded plastic enclosure for the SunEye-210 includes 21% post-consumer recycled plastic--an achievement that is virtually unheard of in the world of electronics enclosures.
