This Leaky House performs residential and small commercial energy audits using standards set by RESNET and BPI, two nationally recognized residential building organizations. The first step to becoming more energy efficient is to find out which parts of your house or apartment "leak" the most energy. If your house is leaky you may not even know it, and you may be using much more fuel than necessary. The audit includes utility bill disaggregation, interview, data collection, software modeling, and reporting.
The current corporate model of capital accumulation without societal responsibility is short-sighted and self-destructive. The B Corporation model seeks to correct this deficiency.
This Leaky House was started as an offshoot of the non-profit, Chester County Citizens for Climate Protection. It began as a way to answer the question: What are the most cost effective means to reduce CO2 emissions? The motivation for running TLH is seeing customers reactions when they show them how much lower their energy bills could be, and the positive cash flow they would realize, if they would AirSeal, Insulate, and Upgrade appliances to efficient building standards.
The Change We Seek®
At This Leaky House, we seek to have every residential building emit no greenhouse gases, and to have every occupant be aware of the impact of their actions when using energy.
We seek to lower energy consumption, reduce oil dependency, lower GHG emissions, and save homeowners money at the same time.
