About Uranus Apparel

Uranus Apparel is a new eco-friendly company formed by two college students that sells soy underwear for women. The underwear are boyshort-style and have been appropriately coined “soyshorts”. Soy fabric is luxuriously soft and comfortable, often likened to silk or cashmere. Besides being softer than cotton, soy fabric is more durable and long-lasting (and it keeps getting softer the more times you wash it). It dries quicker than cotton and is extremely easy to care for, being machine-washable and dryer-safe (use low heat to prevent shrinkage). It is warmer than wool, but absorbant and breathable, making it the ideal fabric for warm or cool weather.

We became a B Corporation to associate ourselves with other climate conscious companies. Together we can make a change.

Their soyshorts are sold in sets of three: one pair natural beige, one pair black and one pair moss green. They are colored with 100% natural vegetable dye and packaged in burlap drawstring sacks that are 100% biodegradable. They encourage you to compost your burlap bag or reuse it as a pouch to hold your most valuable treasures.

The Change We Seek™

We are committed to utilizing soy as a more sustainable alternative to cotton fiber.

• Soy is a fantastic alternative fabric choice because it is manufactured from the by-products of soy food production like tofu and soybean oil. This process uses materials that would otherwise be considered waste, thus "closing the loop" on soy.
