Virginia Community Capital

About Virginia Community Capital

A nonprofit, community development financial institution (CDFI) and banking entity, Virginia Community Capital (VCC) supports housing and community development ventures, increases jobs, and builds sustainable communities throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Three core business lines—Lending, Savings, Advisory Services—provide expertise to a wide range of constituents including localities, developers, community development agencies, nonprofits, and business owners.

Becoming a certified B Corporation is a natural part of the VCC evolution. Our service offerings and our capacity to create tangible, lasting impact have grown exponentially with the expansion of loan outreach and the introduction of savings and technical advisory services. All of our efforts combine to promote the health of our collective social contract—a fundamental B Corp premise.

VCC delivers innovative loan and investment solutions. Along with its subsidiary, Community Capital Bank, VCC furnishes loan capital broader than bank lending for projects supporting positive community impact in low- to moderate-income communities and underserved geographies and markets.

VCC Savings educates on and encourages savings for all income levels. Deposit services appeal to institutional and socially conscious investors and community banks. Advisory services advance community development projects, small business growth, and nonprofit training and education.
