People and the planet matter to me. Career Aviators began because of my belief that it was possible for a sole proprietor to be a "force for good" in the world, while still making a fare wage for myself and those associated with the business. I wanted Career Aviators to be part of something bigger that would make change world-wide. Becoming a B Corp is the answer. My thinking also aligned well with the B Corp's standards in social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Now the journey is underway!

The Change We Seek®

Stressful home and community situations jeopardize normal growth and development for children and youth, such that they often cannot prosper into adulthood. It makes it very difficult for them grow to be contributing members of the community. There is rapidly growing number of children in North America who are in this situation. Research shows that children who have access to programmes that foster resilience can thrive in their development and become productive contributing members of the community in their adulthood.

Most non-profit programmes are “resource stretched” just trying to deliver programs for the children they serve. Yet, they are also faced with an ever increasing need for charitable dollars to keep these programs running.

When fully developed, this model will enable increasing numbers of children to benefit from the programming because staff and financial resources at the non-profit can be directed entirely to youth programming. It enables these organizations to spend less time raising funds. In addition, this model allows traditional philanthropic gifts to be directed to other community needs. Fund raising is a costly endeavor for non-profits and there is no cost to the charity associated with this approach to programme growth. The funds will also allow organizations to test out programming ideas that may not be currently funded.

Career Aviators believes that they can create a more sustainable, productive and healthy community by doing this on a bigger scale. Their success will inspire other businesses to join in this approach. The model will also bring attention to the critical importance of strengthening the resilience of children and families for a more sustainable future.
