Sales Support Representative, Farm-Fresh Food
Thanks to growing business, we’re looking for our second sales team member to support our Sales Representative.
As our new Sales Support Representative, your main goal will be to get more delicious, local, farm-fresh food in the kitchens of Toronto’s most innovative and exciting chefs and restaurants.
We get great feedback from our chef and restaurant customers – they love what we offer and how we offer it. Your number one priority will be to continue offering our customers more and a greater range of products. In other words, to grow sales in our existing accounts.
To succeed at this, you’ll truly work alongside chefs in an inspiring, collaborative, creative way. You’ll introduce chefs to products they might not otherwise think of, and you’ll find ways of getting them new products they’re on the hunt for. You’ll work alongside our Sales Representative to complete the sales process and make locally grown food competitive vs. imports. At the end of the day, you’ll go home knowing you were part of a creative process that thrilled diners and advanced a sustainable, community-supporting economy.
Growing sales also means putting in place reliable sales processes, so that it’s easy for our chef and restaurant customers to keep placing orders. It also means reminding chefs to choose our local options when placing their orders, so get ready to get on the phone! The Practical Stuff
This is a great time to begin local food sales, as the growing season is just around the corner (hurray!). But this is a year-round position, as winter sees demand for hydroponically grown and stored produce, protein and dry goods.
You’ll work from home or the 100km Foods office and occasionally travel around Toronto and neighbouring communities to get the job done. Your hours will mirror chef’s hours, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We offer a $40,000 base salary to start, two weeks’ paid vacation, group benefits, and above all, the chance to do meaningful work on a great team.
Above all, you have a desire to make a positive difference in the world. In addition, these qualifications will help you stand out:
- Experience in sales, particularly B2B sales that involved prospecting, telephone sales and product sampling
- Experience in food, beverage, restaurant or hospitality sales an asset
- A valid Ontario driver's license and regular access to a vehicle and smartphone
