About stok

stok is a vertically integrated real estate services firm focused on creating a radically better built environment. They balance the financial and performance goals of their projects with social and environmental needs, resulting in restorative buildings, exceptional workspaces, high-performance systems and lasting, trusted relationships with their partners.

In all that they do—from sustainable buildings, to project and construction management, to real estate strategy—they take a broad-thinking, partner-focused approach to solving complex problems. With more than 107 million square feet of impact globally, and six of the top fifteen Forbes Most Valuable Brands as clients, they enhance profitability by setting bold goals, strategically capturing underutilized resources, and optimizing for human and ecological impacts.

We believe that there is more to life than profits - we are here to work together as a community, for a better world. Within this work, we are thrilled to build successful, profitable business, but we remember that profits are means to an end, not the end itself.

The Change We Seek®

stok is designed like nature would design an organization. Think of overlapping concentric circles that move away from traditional hierarchy to efficient, self-organized teams of peers. There are no bosses at stok. Instead, stok operates under the assumption that every team member is an innately good human being who can be trusted to do the right thing. Crazy, right?

stok team members are not motivated by money and status. They are motivated by autonomy, mastery, and a shared purpose: autonomy structured so everyone has a say in what stok does, when it's done, and with whom; mastery over whatever the team is passionate about – whether it’s one craft, or many; and purpose that not only drives the team to maximize its human potential, but its social and environmental impact.

What makes us a better company?
