Assurance Summer Associate
B Lab  - Chapel Hill, NC and San Francisco, CA 

We are seeking 8-10 MBA interns for a ten-week internship program during the summer of 2012. Summer Assurance Associates will work with a team of other MBAs and B Lab staff members to complete on-site assurance reviews of the social and environmental practices of a random sample of 10% of all certified B Corporations. Program will include a beginning training program, visits to the B Corporations selected for on-site review, and one independent project. Interns will work from B Lab’s offices in either Chapel Hill, NC or in San Francisco, CA with some work also completed on site with B Corporations and at B Lab’s headquarters in Berwyn, PA. This internship experience offers interested candidates an unparalleled opportunity to learn firsthand how small and medium size enterprises implement sustainability strategies and provides students with a chance to interact with the senior leadership of companies undergoing on-site reviews. It also educates students about social and environmental standards, impact assessment and B Lab’s efforts in supporting Benefit Corps as a new corporate form and impact investing as an emerging asset class. Former Assurance Summer Associates have went on to secure full-time employment with mission-driven companies like Divine Chocolate and Fortune 500 companies like Duke Energy, Bank of America and Walmart or have launched their own sustainable enterprise ventures. Ideal candidates will have experience in sustainable business and entrepreneurship.
