Programs & Tools Overview

B Lab provides companies with the programs and tools necessary to understand their environmental and social impact - whether or not they are Certified B Corporations. We won't stop until all business is a force for good, from small enterprises to multinationals, and we're continually developing new resources to fit the needs of B Corps and non-B Corps alike.

B IMPACT ASSESSMENT

Measure and manage your company’s impact.

What is it? The free B Impact Assessment enables companies to measure, manage, and improve their impact by answering a series of questions about business practices and outputs.

Who is it for? Any for-profit company — in fact, the B Impact Assessment is already used by more than 150,000 businesses. You don’t have to be a B Corp to use this free and confidential tool, nor do you have to be a C-suite executive or seasoned sustainability professional.

Pending B Corp Status

A way for start-ups and smaller companies to signal they're committed to using business as a force for good.

What is it? A program for start-ups and smaller companies, signaling to current and future investors that a company is beginning to measure and manage its social and environmental performance with the best tools available. After a period of time determined by their local B Lab or Sistema B organization, Pending Bs must go through the full verification process with B Lab to certify as a B Corp.

How do I get started? You will need to meet the legal accountability requirement, submit a prospective B Impact Assessment, sign the Pending B Corp agreement, and pay a one-time fee.

Collective Action

Developing local, regional, and global communities for change.

From mobilizing climate action with leaders across sectors, to dismantling white supremacy in our network and broader business community, to organizing against wealth and gender inequality, the B Corp movement is taking collective action on the issues that matter most to our global economic system.

Global Policy

Advocating for political and governmental action on economic systems change.

As the nonprofit network advancing the global B Corp movement, B Lab drives the creation and implementation of policy work pushing for meaningful legal change around corporate accountability and social and environmental impact.
