Comet Skateboards is the leading manufacturer of high performance skateboards. All Comet manufacturing, merchandise, and initiatives are executed in a manner that aims to enrich the community and preserve bio-diversity. We use a unique blend of regionally sourced materials that result in strong, light skateboards. By purchasing our raw materials regionally, we contribute to a vibrant local living economy and do not create excess pollution by shipping materials all over the world.
Comet became a B Corporation to join a community of like minded businesses that aim to engrain the DNA of business with the vision on which triple bottom line companies were founded.
You are what you ride. That's why we're committed to putting the best materials into our decks, so you can expect high performance and you can ride knowing that your purchase was not a vote for deforestation, for poor labor practices abroad, for excessive materials transportation and fossil fuel consumption, for the use of formaldehyde and other human carcinogens, or for the status quo of current industry.
The Change We Seek™
Comet's mission is to create sustainably manufactured products and to inspire youth to make conscious choices about design and lifestyle - to 'B' free thinkers for life!
• We use FSC certified wood and rubber. Our skateboards are also made with paints and adhesives that do not off-gas harmful chemicals.
• Our production process follows the ethos of the Cradle to Cradle principles and we strive everyday towards that goal.
• We relocated from Oakland to Ithaca to be closer to our core supplier e2e Materials, which produces high-performance e2e biocomposite technology (patents pending) for our all of our skateboards.
• Since our materials are ecologically safe, we recycle or compost nearly all of our scraps which fertilize gardens, heat homes, make bonfires, serve as media for works of art, etc.
