About Asilia Africa

Founded in 2004 in Arusha, Asilia came into existence by merging a few small but highly reputed owner-run safari companies. Since then it has carefully cultivated the successful blend of unique bush expertise and professional business skills, growing the business while maintaining its passion for conservation and the environment. Asilia currently operates 9 wholly-owned properties in Tanzania and Kenya with Operations offices in Arusha (Tanzania) and Nairobi (Kenya) and Marketing & Sales office in Cape Town (South Africa). The company employs approximately 450 well-trained permanent staff, including professional safari guides, a fleet of around 50 luxury safari vehicles and supporting vehicles. It is the first Safari/Lodge Company in Africa with an international 5-star GIIRS rating for its impact and sustainability business practice.  It has a strong track record in supporting local communities (e.g. 30% percent of the workforce is hired locally), is actively involved in various conservancy projects and initiatives (e.g. pioneering the development of Northern Serengeti as a tourist destination, resulting in an impressive decrease of poaching) and limits its impact on natural habitats by practicing sustainable operations (e.g. solar energy powered, minimum waste program, carbon offset program)

  • Our vision is to be a genuine leader in creating lasting conservation economies through responsible tourism and give people joy and appreciation in iconic wildlife & wilderness areas in a way that makes a lasting positive impact on the environment and its people.
  • Through our collaborative approach in the areas where we have committed ourselves to, we believe that our impact reaches well beyond ordinary tourism approaches.
  • We are proud our efforts are being acknowledged and resulted in receiving a 5-star GIIRS rating and becoming a B-Corp.
