About Cuppow

Founded in 2012, Cuppow started by developing a product that would help them decrease their own environmental footprint. The flagship product, a canning jar drinking lid, is a simple adaptor that allows people to upcycle an everyday item into a travel mug. In place of the standard route of manufacturing small products overseas, Cuppow responsibly manufactures high-quality products in the United States using recycled and tested materials. Cuppow offers a full collection of products that are designed as everyday alternatives to disposable and single-use alternatives.

We became a B Corp so that we could formally evaluate our efforts to make a company that aims to offer more than just a product. We are proud to evaluate and showcase the way our businesses impacts our employees, our community, and our planet. We want to help build a future where customers demand products and services are developed in environmentally conscious ways.

Cuppow is proud to showcase the process behind their products. They envision a future where sustainable, locally-focused supply chains are not just prioritized, but celebrated. They use a few simple core values to guide their work:

Cuppow uses only domestic options in their supply, manufacturing, and fulfillment.

Cuppow believes that a strong and healthy country is founded on good jobs, so they do their best to support this. All of the vendors in Cuppow’s supply chain are domestic and are companies that they believe in.

Cuppow uses recycled and safe materials.

Cuppow works hard to source high quality and responsibly produced materials in order to make their everyday products. Opting to use recycled materials in their products is a cornerstone of their ongoing commitment to divert as much unnecessary waste from landfills as possible.

Cuppow is proud to commit 5% of profits forward to supporting organizations and domestic charities.

Organized giving on behalf of businesses can generate substantial support for non-profits. Over the years Cuppow has forged partnerships with domestic charities and directly donated a percentage of their profits. Cuppow calls their efforts ‘5% Forward’ and it’s their way to connect customers with worthwhile organizations that are transparent and effective.

The Customers section of the Assessment measures the impact a company has on its customers. The section focuses on whether a company sells products or services that promote public benefit, and if those products/services are targeted towards serving underserved populations. Questions in this section will measure whether a company's product or service is designed to solve a social or environmental issue (e.g. improves health, preserves environment or creates economic opportunity to individuals or communities, promotes the arts/sciences, or increases the flow of capital to purpose-driven enterprises).

The section also measures the company's practices and policies around community service and charitable giving. In addition, this section includes if a company's product or service is designed to solve a social issue, including access to basic services, health, education, economic opportunity, arts, and increasing the flow of capital to purpose-driven enterprises.
