Sustainability and LEED Consulting and Design
evolve environment :: architecture (evolveEA) is a nimble multidisciplinary practice situated at the intersection of sustainability and the built environment. The team of designers, architects, environmental scientists and sustainable business experts look through three lenses of sustainability: People, Process, and Place.
People’s knowledge, beliefs, and actions must be understood to determine achievable goals and implementation strategies. Process defines what we do, how we accomplish it and the material and energy flows that are needed. Places influence our experience and understanding of sustainability, and can demonstrate environmental principles.
Our approach to greening places, processes, and communities compels us to consider all the impacts of our work and our actions. With the B Corp framework helping us to measure our impact in areas key to our mission, it’s a natural fit for the company. The B Corp community’s collective impact is already widespread and we feel it is important to participate in the continued advancement of B Corporations as a vehicle for positive change.
Since its inception in 2004, evolveEA has been working with communities to implement these ideas through its impact areas:

The Change We Seek®
evolveEA’s mission is to advance environmentally sustainable systems and solutions through design and thought leadership. We envision a future in which communities are empowered to shape their own environments while striving for economic and social justice. Where companies do well by doing good in their communities, and where design is equally accessible to all.
evolveEA stewards its principles through its design and consulting project work, while also leading through demonstration. The firm maintains an award-winning green workplace with a focus on continuous improvement—introducing new benefits and green policies as opportunities arise. By publishing its Greenhouse Gas Report, evolveEA has helped other organizations understand how to achieve carbon-neutrality, and by participating in local programs such as the Green Schools Academy and Pittsburgh Bike Friendly Employers, evolveEA has contributed to efforts benefitting the broader community.
