Maui-based Hawaiian Paddle Sports is Hawaii’s premier ocean activity company. From Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe and Ocean Kayak Tours to private Surf and Stand Up paddle board lessons, Hawaiian Paddle Sports provides guests with unique, authentic, and intimate ocean experiences. Through its variety of ocean activities, Hawaiian Paddle Sports empowers thousands of guests each year to develop a deeper connection to Maui and the marine environment.

Recognizing the importance of creating a sustainable, marine-based eco-tourism model, Hawaiian Paddle Sports launched in 2010 as a company committed to reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices within Maui’s tourism sector. Through private tours, professional guides, true ecotourism, and a commitment to community, Hawaiian Paddle Sports not only provides an unparalleled guest experience, but also supports the local community and a healthy ocean ecosystem.

As an ocean-based activities company, Hawaiian Paddle Sports makes its living off of the ocean. We therefore recognize the importance of giving back to both the environment and community, while also taking care of our employees. We became a B Corp to not only solidify these components within our business, but also act as model for eco-tourism.

Hawaiian Paddle Sports is more than an ocean activities company, and in fact characterizes itself as a community of sustainably-minded ocean stewards who cultivate a global sense of kuleana - Hawaiian for responsibility. It is through this sense of responsibility that Hawaiian Paddle Sports has embraced practices that support positive social and environmental change, while still providing superior guest experiences.

To take care of the ocean, Hawaiian Paddle Sports participates in beach and reef cleanups, and through its dedication to the “Rise Above Plastics” movement, uses only stainless steel, reusable water bottles. To minimize disturbance to marine animals, it implements a strict “no touch” policy on all of its eco-tours, while also utilizing tours to educate guests about the importance of the marine environment. Hawaiian Paddle Sports additionally supports local environmental and social organizations through its “Monthly Non Profit” program. In 2015, Hawaiian Paddle Sports employees provided 200+ community service hours to recipient nonprofits, volunteering their time to beach cleanups, food drives, and habitat restoration.

Hawaiian Paddle Sports also drives social change through its team of dedicated employees. The company provides 100% of its employees above living wage rates in addition to a strong benefits package. Employees are further given the opportunity to attend relevant trainings and continuing education classes. Throughout the year Hawaiian Paddle Sports recognizes and rewards its employees, and strives to maintain a high caliber of passionate and dedicated team members.
