About Sun Light & Power

Sun Light & Power was founded in 1976, at a time when many were just beginning to realize the need to preserve and protect the world's vital resources. Today Sun Light & Power offers the latest in custom designed, energy efficient technology, including state-of-the-art systems for solar electricity (PV) and hot water (solar thermal) focusing on Total Energy Solutions.

We at Sun Light & Power are exceptionally proud to have earned Certification as a B Corporation because we are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the highest possible standards for the solar industry, for our company, for our customers, and ultimately for the planet.

Sun Light & Power is committed to providing a personal touch to every project they’re  involved with - for commercial, non-profit, and residential projects - from thoughtful design to superior engineering to exemplary installation followed by quality service. Their staff excels across its disciplines: engineering, construction, electrical systems, CAD, and the permit, rebate, and interconnection processes. Sun Light & Power is aware that installing a solar system involves significant investments, both economical and emotional, and they also recognize that customers are being bombarded with choices and options. They are confident that by providing the highest value possible in terms of solar system efficiency, cost-to-benefit ratio, and customer satisfaction they can continue to hold their place as the most trusted name in solar on the West Coast. Talk to the experts!

The Change We Seek®

Sun Light & Power  believes you will find their commitment to the environment and the community unsurpassed in the solar industry.

They run their entire office and charge their electric vehicles with the solar power system on their roof. Sun Light & Power’s fleet of service vehicles runs on bio-diesel fuel manufactured from waste cooking oil. They use only recycled paper products and patronize other certified green business for such things as printing, legal services, company apparel, marketing items, etc. They recycle any waste building materials they generate including wiring, scrap aluminum, and copper pipes. Additionally, Sun Light & Power incorporates green building methods and materials into our own office and warehouse expansions and renovations.

In addition to working green, Sun Light & Power strives to be socially responsible by hiring full-time employees, paying them a living wage, and offering health benefits, a retirement plan, and paid time off. Instead of subcontracting their installations (as many contractors do in order to cut costs), they rely on a company work force that is continually trained and educated.

SLP regularly sponsors the events of numerous Bay Area non-profit organizations active in the fields of affordable housing, community development, and green building. Their employees volunteer on projects for such organizations as Grid Alternatives and Habitat for Humanity and are even able to claim paid volunteer hours to do so. Above all, Sun Light & Power is a company that “walks the talk”. They were among the first 15 companies in the state of California to achieve Benefit Corporation status on January 1, 2012 and will continue to lead by example as their industry matures.
