About Sun Light & Power

Sun Light & Power was founded in 1976, at a time when many of us were just beginning to realize the need to preserve and protect the world's vital resources. Today Sun Light & Power offers the latest in custom designed, energy efficient technology, including state-of-the-art systems for solar electricity and hot water, radiant heating, earth-source heat pumps, and wind generated power.

We at Sun Light & Power are exceptionally proud to have earned Certification as a B Corporation because we are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the highest possible standards for the solar industry, for our company, for our customers and ultimately for the planet.

Sun Light & Power is committed to providing a personal touch to every project they’re involved with - for commercial, non-profit, and residential projects - from thoughtful design to superior engineering to exemplary installation followed by quality service. Their staff excels across its disciplines; engineering, construction, electrical systems, CAD, and the permit, rebate and interconnection process. They are very aware that installing a solar system involves quite an investment, both economical and emotional, and recognize that customers are being bombarded with choices and options. They are confident that by providing the highest value possible in terms of solar system efficiency, cost-to-benefit ratio and customer satisfaction they can continue to hold their place as the most trusted name in solar in the Bay Area. "We are The Solar Experts – talk to us."

The Change We Seek®

We believe you will find our commitment to the environment and the community unsurpassed in the solar industry.

We run our entire office and charge our electric vehicle with the solar power system on our roof. Our fleet of service vehicles runs on bio-diesel fuel manufactured from waste cooking oil. We use only recycled paper products and patronize other certified green business for such things as printing, legal services, uniforms, marketing items, etc. We recycle any waste building materials we generate including wiring, scrap aluminum, copper pipes, etc, and incorporate green building methods and materials into our own office and warehouse expansions and renovations.

In addition to working green, we strive to be socially responsible by hiring full-time employees, paying them a living wage, and offering health benefits, a retirement plan, and paid time off. Instead of subcontracting our installations (as many contractors do in order to cut costs), we rely on a company work force that is continually trained and educated.

SLP regularly sponsors the events of numerous Bay Area non-profit organizations active in the fields of affordable housing, community development, and green building. SLP employees volunteer on projects for such organizations as Grid Alternatives and Habitat for Humanity.
