Dimagi does not measure itself by its Profit and Loss. Our organization measures itself by the impact we can have on improving healthcare. We support the B Corporations efforts to formalize legal frameworks for organizations like Dimagi, who do not fit traditional non-profit and for-profit models. We believe improved transparency and accountability to share holders, board members, and employees of social impact can enable a new type of consumer and employee who want to incorporate social impact into their behavior.

This model has been successfully implemented for pilot-phase projects and enterprise wide deployments. Dimagi’s staff includes software engineers, health systems architects, and clinicians in a tight-knit team. As a small business with this blend of expertise, Dimagi is able to rapidly iterate and adapt the technologies to the local environment, enabling appropriate, scalable solutions to be created at a low-cost.

Dimagi's mission is to integrate innovative technology into global public and private services in order to improve human health and wellbeing. We seek collaborations and partners that emphasize local ownership and open access to the systems and technologies that we support.

• We believe that IT capacity-building is more likely to happen when more of a project’s “coding” (ie, programming) is done in-country, by local developers. Our Coded in Country (CIC) initiative, developed in conjunction with DataDyne, aims to increase awareness of this by encouraging projects to put more than 50% of their programming funding towards local coders.

• We believe in out-collaborating rather out-competing. Collaboration enables creation of dynamic ecosystems to drive lower costs, better information sharing, and less duplication of efforts. We are founding members of multiple consortiums that share these goals: the Open Rosa Consortium and Open Mobile Consortium.
