About Ethical Impact L3C

Ethical Impact L3C provides businesses of all sizes with the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to become strategically sustainable. They provide education through The Green Academy, fast and efficient strategic planning, certification via the Forever Green™ certification process and consulting to ensure effective implementation, applied learning and continued growth.

We believe in the need to redesign the systems in which we function and the B Corp mission is a courageous and great leap forward in doing that. The combination of creating a context in which it is legal to manage our relationship with the planet and the communities we serve and the insistence upon acting in ways that support planetary and community health is a strong and powerful one.

Ethical Impact believes that the purpose of business is to enhance life. Traditionally it has been human life that was the focus, now we know that if the rest of life on the planet is not served well when humans are not being served well either. By being clear about the deeper purpose of business, companies are able to create a path that acts in harmony with nature’s own principles and laws.

The Change We Seek™

It is imperative that we lighten our load on the planet and our carbon footprint, in particular. However we believe that is not enough. Many companies are reaching for the cost reductions inherent in a wiser use of energy and waste reduction, and that is a good thing but it not an indication of true sustainability.

If we are to ensure that our species will exist on this planet in 10,000 years and be able to do business of some sort, then other changes are needed.
