Green Awakening Coffee is an inclusive and socially responsible company that produces gourmet, fair trade and organic ground coffee (12 oz bags). Their delicious shade grown 100% organic Arabica coffees come from the beautiful jungle-covered foothills of the Peruvian Highlands. Organic coffee is grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides, using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Their beans are harvested by hand and are slowly roasted to bring out their full flavor and strong aroma. These Peruvian coffees have it all: body, excellent tastes, balanced acidities as well as interesting and exceptional aromas.

The values advanced by B Lab and B Corporations are ones that are important to us and also to our stakeholders. By becoming a B Corporation, we are better able to broadcast our commitment to those values and hopefully set an example of social and environmental responsibility in our community.

Green Awakening Coffee is not only a premium high quality product, it gives back to the people and the planet as well. Their company has a partnership deal with small coffee growers associated in cooperatives. They include them as partners and distribute company profits among them. With Green Awakening, small farmers increase their net income by at least 30% compared to selling to fair trade certified coffee importers. In addition, through the Green Awakening Giving Back Program, Green Awakening provides American schools with a source of income to help offset their educational budget shortfalls. The Green Awakening Giving Back Program also finances kids workshops, Sunday schools, community sport teams and many other community initiatives. Through Green Awakening, you help your community while supporting small farmers in Peru.

The Change We Seek®

Our mission is to provide a premium high quality organic and fair trade certified coffee while passionately giving back to people and the earth and simultaneously generating a profit. We do this by:

• Supporting female entrepreneurial efforts by marketing, “Cafe Mujer”, a coffee grown solely by women. This effort increases their social, economic and political power within their communities.

• Creating an Education Fund for the children of our farmers. We give 50¢ of every sale to an education fund self-managed by the cooperatives to help provide school supplies and support education initiatives for their children.

• Offering training and technical support programs. We want to help small farmers increase their crop yields by as much as 100%. These programs will be possible thanks to a partnership with local official institutions.

• Providing a real alternative to illegal crops. Collaborating with the American and Peruvian governments in the Coca Substitution Program by providing attractive alternative crops to farmers.

• Allowing our customers to support their local communities and schools through the Green Awakening Giving Back Program. If you wish to donate to an organization, simply select it from the list provided at the time of purchase. We will contribute to your selected school with each bag you purchase.
