Harvest Power

About Harvest Power

Harvest collaborates with communities to build systems of organic material recycling, renewable energy and soil revitalization. It uses a platform of recycling, anaerobic digestion and composting technologies to put organic materials to their highest and best use. Harvest owns and operates facilities in California, Pennsylvania, British Columbia, Ontario, California, and throughout Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Northeast states.

Our business model revolves around sustainability: we recycle organic materials, produce clean renewable energy, and return nutrient-rich soil products and natural fertilizers back to farms and gardens. We became a B Corp in order to both give a framework for measuring our sustainable systems and to identify areas for improvement.

The company boasts a management team with deep experience in composting, renewable energy, supply chain management, engineering, law and finance. Harvest has grown rapidly since its founding in 2008. The company was twice named to the Cleantech 100 (Top Global Cleantech companies), designated "Emerging Company of the Year" by the New England Clean Energy Council, and received an SBANE 2011 New England Innovation Award.

The Change We Seek®

Harvest seeks a new path for organic materials: one that puts organic materials to their highest and best use. In a world of interlocking challenges – expensive landfills, limited fossil fuels, eroding soils, demands for renewable energy – Harvest sees a series of interlocking solutions. Harvest's business is to help society live in balance with nature by providing products and services that harness the energy and nutrients of organic materials, transforming what was previously a waste stream into valuable resources that enable communities, businesses, and individuals to thrive sustainably.

By establishing a bridge between low-cost disposal options, raw materials, clean renewable energy, and high-quality compost and soil products, Harvest creates a new lifecycle for organics. At the same time, Harvest enables communities to increase their energy independence, reduce their environmental impact, and meet recycling and diversion goals while simultaneously producing renewable energy and high-quality soil products.
