About IceStone
IceStone LLC manufactures high-design durable surfaces from 100% recycled glass and cement that are used in kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities and flooring. We are a mission-driven company actively reducing the waste stream by redirecting tons of waste glass from landfills to be used in IceStone surfaces.
IceStone was co-founded by two long-term members of Investors’ Circle and Social Venture Network – believers that business can be a tool for social and environmental sustainability. IceStone has been collaborating with green-building businesses, non-profits, and sustainability organizations since our formation. IceStone hopes that the B Corporation community continues to provide leadership, teamwork, and the models to fortify the presence of sustainable businesses.
We operate out of a renovated, day-lit factory in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, creating U.S. jobs for workers in an eco-friendly, safe and respectful environment. Our goal is to be the top choice for green, sustainable countertops by producing beautiful materials that rival the strength of quarried stone but create far less waste than other surfaces.

The Change We Seek™
Our mission is to develop products that foster a sustainable environment; to provide our customers with excellent service while establishing long-term relationships; to engage our employees’ passion and creativity while honoring the balance between work and family; and finally to work together with each other, our partners, our community, and our customers to continually improve the products, the work we do and the world we live in.
• IceStone is proud to be the first and only durable surface in the world to receive McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC)’s coveted Cradle to Cradle™ certification. Cradle to Cradle™ assesses products on a number of criteria, such as the use of safe and healthy materials, design for material reuse and recycling, efficient use of energy and water throughout production, and instituting strategies for social responsibility. Between 70% and 75% of our materials’ weight is from recycled materials, which made us eligible for not only Cradle to Cradle™ certification but LEED recognition as well.
• IceStone has adopted goals for energy conservation, carbon emissions, water use, and waste management. IceStone will become carbon-neutral, purchase renewable energy credits, and will continue to reduce energy use per square foot of product produced. For example, we have reduced 80% of our water usage throughout our manufacturing process by recycling “gray water” that is still viable for our process.
