B Corps are a new type of corporation which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
B Corps Matter?
Our vision is simple yet ambitious: to redefine success in business.
Technically, it’s called benefit corporation legislation. Either way, laws have been passed in 7 states so far creating a new kind of corporation for a new economy.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxPhilly invited B Lab cofounder Jay Coen Gilbert to share how B Corps help solve society's most pressing problems.
The foundation of our work is growing the community of Certified B Corporations. B Lab certified 75 percent more B Corps in 2010 than in 2009, and the average size of certified companies is increasing.
