About Lunapads

Lunapads is a mission-based women-owned enterprise based in Vancouver, Canada. Since 1993 we have been dedicated to creating innovative, body-positive and sustainable alternatives to disposable feminine hygiene and personal care products. Today our products are used by customers in over 40 countries worldwide. Thanks to their choices, over 1 million disposable pads and tampons are diverted from landfills every month.

We became a founding Canadian B Corp to catalog and formalize our longstanding policies and commitments to social equality and environmental benefit, as well as to capitalize on the support and mentorship available from being part of such an outstanding group of people and organizations.

The Change We Seek®

Lunapads mission is To create a more positive and informed relationship between women, their bodies and the Earth. To that end, not only do we provide healthy and environmentally responsible products, we further reject a culture of shame and silence around women’s reproductive health, choosing instead to explore and celebrate women’s cyclical aspects.

Our social impact agenda also includes girls and women in developing nations, many of whom lack access to any form of feminine hygiene products whatsoever. The impact of this largely unreported issue is devastating, resulting in school absenteeism and dropout, teen pregnancy, increased risk of maternal mortality and reduced or lost income opportunities.

Through our Pads4Girls program we provide low-cost washable pads and underwear to girls and women in need in the developing world. Our model is expanding to include a social enterprise model, where through mentorship and financial assistance we support locally-based pad making and distribution operations.
