Merritt & Merritt & Moulton is a boutique law firm that collaborates with publicly- and privately-held growth companies throughout the Northeast, as well as the venture capital, government, institutional and private investors that support them, to build and guide their businesses. They provide emerging companies with focused business and legal advice from incorporation through seed financing, venture financing, L3C's (Low Profit, Limited Liability Companies) and liquidity events, including initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
The values advanced by B Lab and B Corporations are ones that are important to us and also to our stakeholders. By becoming a B Corporation, we are better able to broadcast our commitment to those values and hopefully set an example of social and environmental responsibility in our community.
Merritt & Merritt & Moulton also advises companies on a variety of day-to-day issues, such as: employment matters, intellectual property protection, commercial contracts, and real estate transactions. Clients benefit from more than just the focused legal advice Merritt & Merritt & Moulton provides. The firm's membership and active participation in other entrepreneurial organizations provides them with an inside look at what's happening in the current business environment and their relationships with other professional service providers and sources of capital throughout the region are an important added value to their clients.
The Change We Seek®
• To change the lawyer – client interaction from a task/transaction orientation to a long-term relationship based on shared values and goals.
• To enable clients to establish successful mutually beneficial long-term relationships with their stakeholders, e.g. employees, investors, suppliers, customers.
• To work with B Lab and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility to establish benefit corporations as an alternative legal structure in Vermont by the introduction and passage of S.263.
