Our whole leaf teas are never treated with artificial flavors, colorings, or oils, making it the Purest Tea on the Planet. It was important to us to belong to a group that represents our values and helps support and sustain these values into the future. We use sustainable and recycled materials in everything, from our bamboo tea boxes to our natural fiber tea bags and recycled tea cartons. If 10,000 Americans drank a box of Numi Organic Tea, we would save 27 lbs. of pesticides, 239 lbs. of fertilizer, 12 trees, 792 lbs. of landfill and would contribute $400 to Fair Trade tea gardens.

Numi is committed to quality, authenticity, global consciousness and sustainability in its packaging and business practices. We sell Fair Trade Certified™ tea to guarantee that workers are treated fairly with good working and living conditions, and that they are provided a fair wage leading to an improved quality of life.
• Numi is committed to importing tea that has been manufactured fairly. 16 of our teas are Fair Trade Certified™ , making Numi one of the leading importers of Fairly Traded teas in the U.S. We purchase whole leaf teas and pay an additional $0.50 per pound to cover the fair trade funds. Numi purchased over 150,000 pounds of fairly traded teas in 2006 and gave back $.50 per pound or over $75,000. Numi was one of the 200 companies chosen in Whole Foods Market’s Whole Trade Partners Program.
• Numi continues to campaign for fair trade and labor standards beyond those covered by Transfair. We are working with SCS (Scientific Certification Systems) to develop certification standards based on Fair Labor Practices for products that are not subject to Transfair’s standards but nonetheless deserve fair practice policies.
