Founded in 2006, Plum Organics is a pioneer and leading baby food brand in the organic food industry. Committed to nourishing Generation Organic™ right from the start, Plum Organics offers over 30 products for baby’s first bite up through independent toddlerhood. Plum Organics recipes are culinary-inspired and our meals and snacks are minimally processed to retain more of their natural nutrients, vibrant colors, and real flavors.
Offering the consumer a 'brand' of companies that embrace triple bottom line management is essential in turning our economy towards a gentler, more sustainable path. We became a B Corporation to support this movement and to make it easier for parents to bring sustainability home.
We believe that introducing babies to real food with interesting, flavorful tastes and textures creates a foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating. Our pouch meals are cooked just the right amount compared to conventional jarred baby foods, which are exposed to high temperatures and lengthy cooking times. We believe that by exposing infants and children to pure, gently processed foods, one can positively influence their taste buds and appreciation of healthy foods for life.
The Change We Seek®
As a brand leader and eco-advocate, we are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint and set the bar higher for sustainable efforts across the board. In addition to 100% of our products being Certified-Organic, we are proud to ensure that Plum Organics products are pure and clean from the inside out – which means safe, BPA and phthalate-free packaging. An important goal of ours is to reduce our environmental impact through waste reduction and lessening the energy in the manufacturing and transportation of our products. Independent studies show that the largest carbon footprint in the life cycle of a product actually occurs during the manufacturing and transportation process. In 2009, Plum Organics was the first baby food brand to introduce a convenient, lightweight soft-sided pouch to the US market, a format that has since become the preferred format for baby food manufacturers. Plum Organics’ lightweight eco-pouch is 10x lighter than the traditional glass jar and cap, and requires less time & energy to produce. All of which leads to less transportation in freight, reduced greenhouse gases, and lower costs.
