About Relevance
Relevance is a an agile software development, consulting and training organization. We work with highly effective tools and people to create software solutions faster, cheaper, and of higher quality. We work in a wide variety of industries, and our team is known for both its technical expertise and the speed and depth of our understanding of your domain. Our goal is to identify value, and build software to deliver it.
Having begun a program focusing on software for sustainable businesses, and working with an existing B Corporation on a development project, the goals of B Lab resonated with our team. Looking around, our business niche is only sparsely populated within the B Community, even though we feel that software professionals wield some of the strongest leverage for affecting change. We hope to be strong champions for the community and to help spread the ideals through our services and products.
We are a team of expert developers, using powerful tools like Ruby, Rails, and Clojure, with a deep understanding of the platforms you'll need to work with. We use agile practices and fanatical communication to constantly identify and pursue value. We value communication over confrontation, and try to hold to the rule of building the Simplest Thing That Works. Regardless of your business niche, our team has a strong reputation for quickly understanding your domain and working with our partners to create software through a shared vision.
The Change We Seek®
Software developers are the accelerant of change in today's economy. Because so many businesses now depend on software, the values we bring and build into our products can change the way enterprises view and determine value.
• We seek to bring our values to our customers and introduce them to new techniques: data transparency and ubiquity, humane work schedules, communication over confrontation, open source and open business, and the single-minded dedication to identifying the "Simplest Thing That Works".
• We have a distinct emphasis on how we treat our employees: working at Relevance shouldn't feel like a j-o-b.
• We also focus on sustainable practices, local sourcing, and giving back through open source and pro bono work. Everyone on the Relevance technical team spends Fridays working on open source software that is contributed back to the community.
