About SVT Group

Social Venture Technology Group (SVT) helps investors and organizations design and manage programs that create real social impact. We have helped corporations and foundations perform investment due diligence, scope out new markets, and even develop software to calculate the impact of these projects. We seek to maximize both the financial return and social impact of our clients’ investments.

We became a B Corporation to lend our weight to the critical mass needed to create change in how business is done.

We believe that every group doing social and environmentally beneficial work has a compelling story to tell. Communicating that value, however, can be extremely difficult. As demands for accountability and transparency are growing, we want to ensure that evaluations enable good work, not hinder it.

We seek to democratize access to the tools to measure, manage and communicate social and environmental return on investment.

• We enable organizations to access and manage information for improving their social and environmental impact. We seek to make visible the invisible. The SVT Group is generating and synthesizing the best current and emerging thinking on creating and managing positive social and environmental impacts, and developing the tools necessary to measure, manage and communicate the value of those impacts.

• We need new systems of accounting for social or environmental value. SROI (Social Return on Investment) analysis provides a way to make your work more efficient and effective, and a shared language investors and organizations can use to understand the full value of an investment. The foundation of legitimate SROI analyses is a rigorous methodology—one that is testable, replicable and verifiable. A fundamental principle of SROI analyses is to hold each organization and project as a unique entity with a unique context.
