Auping is the largest developer and producer of personal sleep solutions in the Netherlands. Their story began in 1888. Founder Johannes Auping, a blacksmith in Deventer, was commissioned by a local hospital to replace its regular straw mattresses with a more hygienic alternative - and laid the foundation for their current position.
