Downsize Managers was primarily born out of the need to help people downsize by repurposing and recycling their personal belongings through local online auctions and donating to local charities. The key to their approach lies in understanding how people and objects are connected, how one thing can be the bridge to another thing. This has enabled them to create an ecosystem for people and things in transition in a caring way. Downsize Managers is now full circle in that they reduce waste by finding new homes for gently used items, at the same time building a local community by hiring locally underserved individuals who are in turn seeing the benefits of building a network with local charities and agencies in need and giving back. Downsize Managers contributes to the good of the world and strives to do good business by creating meaningful work for people and things in transition in a way that is socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. It’s not just a job, it’s a calling.
